Position Title: Executive Assistant to the General Secretary
Basic Purpose: We are seeking a candidate with a strong sense of dedication to the work of United Methodist Communications and the Church. This person will independently provide advanced, diversified and
confidential executive administrative support requiring broad experience, skills and knowledge of the agency operations, policies and practices. This person manages and coordinates the functions of the General
Secretary’s office. Manages administrative services, projects and overall daily functions for the office of the General Secretary. Serves as principal liaison for the General Secretary to the General Commission on
Communication (GCOC), the Council of Bishops, the Connectional Table, the General Secretaries Table, other church and secular leaders, and UMCom staff, to ensure a smooth transaction of business activities for
the General Secretary’s office.

Position Title: Minister of Online Engagement, Rethink Church
Basic Purpose: We are seeking candidates with a strong spiritual perspective to oversee and provide online pastoral guidance and engagement with seekers and digitally connects members of The UMC,
with the goal of ultimately bridging them with local congregations of The United Methodist Church or deeper faith engagement in the church. To provide direction for sacred content geared for 18-34 year olds often
disengaged from church. Collaborates with writers, study leaders, clergy and agencies of UMC to provide connection with ministries of the church. Provides innovative and strategic use of social media
to disciple new persons for Christ. Maintains and feeds Rethink Church-linked social media spaces (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube). Collaborates with other members on the Rethink Church
team to build site’s social media, mobile and member strategies.
